
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan was 22, at the time, was the youngest player of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. She scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the world to score 20 goals in a single year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
