Stevland Morris (ne Judkins, May 13 1950) is better known as Stevie Wonder is an American singer-songwriter. He is usually considered to be pioneers in a range of genres, including blues and rhythm jazz, gospel, soul gospel, funk and gospel. A virtual one-man band, Wonder's use of synthesizers and other electronic instruments in the 1970s transformed the norms of R&B. He also helped drive such genres into the album era, crafting his LPs as solid and coherent, as well as expressive and socially conscious compositions. Wonder was born blind shortly after his birth, was signed on Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11. There he was given the official title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's critical acclaim was at its peak in the 1970s. The band's "classic" period began in 1972 with Music of My Mind and Talking Book. The latter included "Superstition", the most well-known and iconic example of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard sound. The Grammy Award for Album of the Years was taken by Innervisions (1973) and Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He is tied for third with the most Album of the YEAR wins. Wonder is the only artist to have received the award for three consecutive albums. Wonder started his "commercial period" in the 1980s; he achieved his biggest hit songs and highest level of fame. He also saw an increase in album sales, charity participation and high-profile collaborations
